Black Marble

Black is the marble colourway that does the most with the least — 31 slabs, and every one earns its place on the strength of its veining rather than the colour alone. Nero Marquina Marble Slabs carries the tight white veining most people picture when they say "black marble"; Black Gold Marble Slab runs looser and warmer, closer to a very dark brown; Nero Portoro Gold Luxury Marble Slabs goes for drama with broad gold-white streaks; and Star Galaxy replaces veining with a scatter of fine, reflective flecks instead. It's still calcite underneath the depth of colour — Mohs 3–4, and etching shows up more visibly on black than on lighter stone, so we're upfront with customers about sealing and about where a black slab suits a feature wall or fireplace better than a daily-use worktop.
