Limestone

Limestone is a natural stone formed from layers of shell and mineral sediment. It has a quieter look than marble: an even colour, little or no veining, and a surface that is usually finished matt rather than polished. It is chosen for floors, walls, fireplaces and bathrooms where a calm, consistent surface is wanted.

This page lists two limestone slabs, both in warm beige tones: Gold Limestone and Gohare Limestone. There are no limestone tiles on the site at present.

Limestone is softer and more porous than most marble, so it should be sealed, and it reacts to acids in the same way. It is common in hallways, living areas and around fireplaces.
